UOK has profound faith in its commitment toward the socioeconomic development of its community, and its partnership with it. It further holds the conviction that its bond with the community, on the local and the national levels, is one of active involvement and interaction.

- Reinforcing the concept of cooperative and interactive participation in terms of students’ and staff members’ involvement, on the one hand, and members of the local community, on the other.
- Raising students’ awareness of what goes on around them, and their role in the developments taking place in their society.
- Addressing the needs of the various sectors in the society in terms of specializations needed for the society’s growth and development.
- Foreseeing the future needs of the society of the required specializations through researching and monitoring the most up-to-date advances and trends in science and learning.
- Taking in local and national talents, with the aim of achieving progress and advancement.
- Protecting local and national heritage in coordination with the local communities.
