What distinguishes Kalamoon University as outstanding among other private universities is not the fact that it was the first to be decreed and inaugurated among the private universities in the Syrian Arab Republic, but rather the philosophy it has adopted under the motto:
“It’s high time we had established an Arab national university that (God willing) outweighs all foreign universities in the region and in the world at large.”

Choosing the location of the University has taken into account the need of its proximity to the main intersection between the southern and northern muhavazat (governates), i.e. the Damascus-Homs International highway. The founder (Al-Nibras Co.) carried out a regional study of district to determine the best possible site for the location of the University, which was found to be in the middle of the four towns of Qara, Deirattiah, Nabek, and Yabroud, in the middle between Deirattiah and Nabek, and at an approximately equal distance from Qara and Yabroud. It is also 100 meters off the international highway to the eastern side.
The total area of the University campus is about 500,000 square meters (500 donums), with the possibility of a future expansion by about 500 donums more.

Since its inception, the University of Kalamoon has developed rapidly at the academic, administrative, service and infrastructural levels. The goal was always and still is to elevate the University to the global level. This has been accompanied by an increase in the number of students, of faculty and administrative members and of service personnel.
