The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Qalamoon was established with the aim of contributing to the health sector with highly qualified physicians, who will be at the forefront of distinguished physicians in Syria.

As we enter the twenty-first century, the era of amazing scientific and medical progress, the need for professional learning and training increases in order to keep pace with the necessities of this tremendous scientific development in the system of life and society on the surface of our planet. The faculty, with all its facilities, laboratories, medical city hospital, curricular activities, and parallel activities, is working to be ready and able to provide the academic and training needs completely and optimally.

The Faculty of Human Medicine at the University of Qalamoon thanks your efforts in making the medical service in the hospital at the highest level. The faculty has succeeded in making the hospital the first place in the field of clinical training for medical students among private universities in Syria and distinguished in the field of specialized medical services.
Vision of the Faculty:
To be a Leader in providing high quality education to produce medical cadres capable of excellence and creativity and meet the needs of the community.
Mission of the Faculty:
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Qalamoon is the first medical school in a private university in Syria.
The College seeks to be a pioneer in preparing and qualifying highly qualified medical practitioners, capable of providing excellent medical assistance to patients, aware of the community’s health needs, and prepared to continue specialized study after graduation and lifelong education, through excellence in medical education that combines scientific originality and keeping abreast of modern medical developments.
Goals of the Faculty:
To achieve the vision and mission of the faculty of Human Medicine at the University Qalamoon, the following goals have been set:
- To apply and develop the latest methods of medical education.
- Contributing to scientific research to address medical and health issues in the community.
- Developing the spirit of working within a medical team that combines different health specialties.
- Strengthening relations with various colleges, medical centers, scientific bodies and health institutions locally, regionally and internationally.
- Refining the student’s intellectual and social personality and encouraging him to engage in cultural, social and sports activities.
- Strengthening cultural ties with various medical colleges and scientific bodies in Syria, as well as Arab and foreign health institutions.
Based on the proposal of the Faculty of Medicine Council and the approval of the University Council, the University of Qalamoon grants the degree of “Doctor of Medicine in Human Medicine”, after a period of 6 years of study.
Students are required to pass 257 credit hours to obtain this degree.
The first class of the Faculty of Medicine graduated in the academic year 2009-2010
The faculty includes the following departments:
1- Anatomy and Embryology Department.
2- Physiology Department.
3- Department of Surgery.
4- Department of Internal Medicine.
Practical training for specialized medical courses takes place in a range of college laboratories:
· Clinical Skills Laboratory.
· Physiology laboratory.
· Biochemistry Laboratory.
· Cell and Tissue Laboratory.
· Fetal laboratory.
· Anatomy Laboratory (4).
· Toxicology and Forensic Medicine Laboratory.
· Microbiology Laboratory.
· Pharmaceutical Laboratory.
· Histopathology Laboratory.
The clinical training takes place at the University of Qalamoon Medical City Hospital and the hospitals of the Qalamoon Hospitals Authority (Deir Atiyah National Hospital, Nabk Hospital, and governmental university hospitals).
