Academic Advising
Academic advising is one of the most important means of helping students to settle in the academic environment in order to obtain the highest rates of achievement that achieve the goals of university education in stimulating the student’s different talents to grow academically, psychologically and socially.
1-Objectives of Academic Advising:
- Cooperating with students to implement the designed study plan and course selection.
- Guiding students in academic matters such as choosing a major.
- Providing advice and counseling regarding students’ performance and academic level in various courses.
- Helping the students discover their abilities and aptitudes.
- Recognize students’ academic strengths and weaknesses.
- Helping the students overcome the transition from one grade level to another.
- Improving the performance of students who are struggling academically, as well as those who have learning difficulties in cooperation with their instructors.
2-Academic Advisor:A member or an assistant of teaching staff whom the students counsel regarding their studies in the related faculty.
He / She gives academic advice, facilitates the study process and excelling in it as well as helping them planning for their future profession after graduation.
3- Academic Advisor Duties:
- Academic supervision of a group of students.
- Guiding students during registration in each semester according to the Academic course and the related curricula.
- Leading the students to the suitable academic studies that match their abilities, previous academicachi evements and their social circumstances.
