University of Kalamoon Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture as Part of Monday Scientific Series
As part of its ongoing awareness initiatives, the Ethar Club and Medical Club at the University of Kalamoon—in alignment with the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month—hosted a scientific lecture titled “An Overview of Breast Cancer,” delivered by Dr. Adnan Ismail.
The event, held on Monday, October 27, 2025, in the Small Auditorium, reflects the University’s continued commitment to engaging with health and community initiatives at both local and global levels.
During the lecture, Dr. Ismail addressed key aspects of breast cancer, including causative factors, mechanisms of spread, and diagnostic methods—with a focus on radiological investigations and the triple assessment approach. He also reviewed the latest treatment methods and highlighted the importance of psychosocial support for patients and survivors.
Furthermore, Dr. Ismail emphasized the vital role of awareness campaigns and early detection programs in reducing incidence rates, in addition to discussing risk factors and preventive measures.
The lecture concluded with an open discussion, where Dr. Ismail responded to questions from the audience. The event was attended by Dr. Sundus Yassin, Head of the Scientific Affairs Council, along with a number of deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
